I am not sure of what's going on with the approval process for the AppStore, but it's getting really slow those days. We have submitted a new update for FolderBuddy around August 21st and the update is still not live in the AppStore. Apple did contact with the usual message saying it was taking an unexpected time to review and did force us to change the MobileMe icon we were using because it was looking too close to the official MobileMe icon ! Duh!! Don't you think that it will make sense that if we're supporting the IMAP MobileMe service we would like to show an icon that looks like the service itself ? It does promote too the Apple's service but apparently Apple doesn't like that.
So we had to resubmit the app : in fact someone at Apple named "Steve" -no not the famous one- called me to discuss about the icon issue, and hinted that if I was to resubmit the app quickly enough the app will not go back to the end of the pool of applications to review... Lesson learn : don't believe that. If you reject your app binary and someone says that it will not end up at the end of the apps to review, it's a lie. I submitted the new app with the new icon 2 weeks ago now, and as you can guess the application is still not approved.
Trying to send email to the Apple Review team doesn't do anything, except getting back the usual answer that the app is taking unexpected time to review, and they don't say anything else... The same usual black hole when apps are in the review process.
